Aligning with Ofsted, focusing on supporting students wellbeing, particularly for those experiencing mental health challenges and those with additional learning needs.
I am working with Gwent Music to provide individual and group sessions in schools.
If you are interested in having Music Therapy at your school, please get in touch.
One to one Music Therapy sessions adopt a person centred approach. By tailoring sessions to the individual, the therapist can provide interventions that work towards therapeutic goals that promote emotional, cognitive and social wellbeing.
Group Music Therapy encourages turn taking, communication and building social skills. Focusing on the interactive and collaborative aspects of music making which allows participants to build relationships with one another whilst exploring their own feelings.
As part of my work with Gwent Music I am running the Soundbeam project in schools.
The Soundbeam is an assistive music technology device that turns physical movements into sounds and music. Soundbeam translates any physical gestures into musical notes, enabling people of all abilities to create music.
Soundbeam sessions encourage turn taking, decision making and building independence. Whilst being creative in making music in an innovative way.
